FIERAGRICOLA 2026: VISITORS AND QUALITY ON THE UP: MORE OPERATORS FROM SOUTHERN ITALY AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

Fieragricola closed its 117th edition today with more than 100,000 visitors. This result further strengthens Fieragricola's leading position in the international trade fair landscape specifically covering the primary sector.

This year, the exhibition at Veronafiere opted for a "Full Innovation" format to offer, thanks to cutting-edge technological solutions, effective answers to sector operators (farmers, breeders, contractors, agronomists, agricultural experts and technicians, veterinarians, animal feed specialists, energy managers, dealers) with the aim of developing increasingly productive and environmentally sustainable agriculture, capable of tackling the continuing climate revolution and ensuring dialogue with supply chains over shared objectives.in line with consumer requirements.

Against this background, the Show hosted the first edition of the States General of Livestock farming organized by Fieragricola with Assalzoo, the leading association in the animal feed industry. An agreement was also signed with Filiera Italia for the sustainable production of bio-fuels.

 

The across-the-board exhibition offering embraced sectors including agricultural engineering, livestock farming, specialist crops with high added value such as vineyards, orchards and olive groves, renewable energy, technologies for smart irrigation, digitalization and bio-solutions for soil protection, services, and - for visitors - something extra in response to the agricultural business model that by now is interconnected, technologically advanced, and based on multi-functionality as a key aspect for improving  added value.

 

"Agriculture is increasingly oriented towards innovation. This is vital if we are to meet the challenges of quality, food safety, climate change, the market and internationalisation,." said the President of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo. “Innovation is an increasingly integral part of agricultural enterprise as a means to improve efficiency and competitiveness. Fieragricola inasmuch confirms its status as a platform that accelerates technology transfer by connecting the worlds of research, companies and markets. Furthermore, the event plays a strategic role in promoting dialogue between trade associations, companies, and institutions, starting with the Ministry of Agriculture."

 

As regards domestic attendance, the number of operators from Southern Italy increased by 10%, with peaks of 30% from Calabria and Sicily: this is thanks to the promotional campaigns and roadshows organized in Southern Italy in the two-year run-up to the Show.

Internationalization also expanded: Fieragricola increasingly acts as a bridge for the Mediterranean area, while also responding to the technological innovation requirements on the African continent.

From Wednesday 4 to Saturday 7 February, Fieragricola welcomed 816 exhibitors from 14 countries (China, Lebanon, Turkey, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Greece, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Spain, France, Hungary) as well as international delegations and buyers - thanks to collaboration with ITA-Italian Trade Agency – from 28 countries around the world: Algeria, Albania, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Ecuador, Egypt, Georgia, Ghana, Greece, Guatemala, India, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Libya, Macedonia, Moldova, Mozambique, Peru, Poland, Romania, Senegal, Serbia, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

 

Business in agriculture is also supported by a broad conference program, with more than 130 training and refresher courses for agricultural professionals.

 

The next edition is scheduled 2-5 February 2028.
