VERONAFIERE INCREASINGLY INTERNATIONAL. NEW FOCUS ON ANGOLA
Agreement signed in during the 110th edition of Fieragricola held recently
The Verona Exhibition Authority is strengthening its involvement on international markets. A protocol of collaboration has been signed with the Industrialists Association of Angola with the objective of developing important synergies in agro-food and construction sectors. These two sectors have always been at the heart of Veronafiere's operations and hinge-pins for the growth (+25% per annum of GDP) of the central African country. The agreement is further confirmation of VeronaFiere's increasingly international vocation looking with interest at new markets and emerging countries. In 2012, VeronaFiere set aside 10% of its investments to strengthen international operations.
Verona, 6 February 2012. Veronafiere's international development continues and this time focuses on Africa. VeronaFiere signed a collaboration agreement with the Republic of Angola during the 110th edition of Fieragricola held in Verona last 2-5 February.
The protocol signed with the Industrialists Association of Angola envisages the creation of a partnership to promote agro-food and construction sectors within the scope of respective exhibition events. The agreement also involves forestry, renewable energy and furniture, as well as synergies in tourism and cultural exchanges. The two parties were represented by the CEO & Director General of Veronafiere, Giovanni Mantovani and the President of the Industrialists Association of Angola, Josè Severiño.
The agreement is based on strong and continual growth of agriculture and the building industry in Angola - the central African country is posting annual increases in GDP of 25% - which are two areas in which the Verona Exhibition Authority boasts events of acknowleded excellence and success, such as Vinitaly, Sol, Fieragricola, FieraCavalli, Siab, Eurocarne, Samoter and Marmomacc.
Veronafiere, inasmuch, strengthens in involvement in Africa - and not only in Mediterranean countries. This scenario demonstrates growing interest among buyers and exhibitors from this continent, as confirmed by relative attendance data for the last few editions of Fieragricola.
"The development of international operations," said Giovanni Mantovani, CEO & Director General of Veronafiere, "is part of our strategic approach, where the Verona Exhibition Authority already sets aside 10% of its investments to acquire a leading role in areas enjoying strong growth such as India, China and Brazil, without overlooking the USA, Russia, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar."
