NOT EVEN BAD WEATHER STOPS FIERAGRICOLA. ATTENDANCE IN EXCESS OF 100 THOUSAND
110th edition of the International Agri-Business Show closes today (www.fieragricola.it)
The 110th edition of Fieragricola," said Giovanni Mantovani, CEO & Director General of VeronaFiere, "managed to ensure attendance by all international delegations and buyers from 46 accredited countries world-wide. On an Italian scale, there were many trade operators, although attendance was inevitably down from regions hit by bad weather, such as Emilia-Romagna and Central Italy which were completely cut off from the rest of the country." Nevertheless, for most operators the 2012 edition of the exhibition (more than 1,300 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, 10 halls for five theme areas) ensured useful contacts in sales terms.
Verona, 5 February 2012. Attendance at Fieragricola in excess of 100 thousand people, despite the wave of extremely bad weather hitting Italy and Europe in recent days. "The 110th edition of Fieragricola," said Giovanni Mantovani, CEO & Director General of VeronaFiere, "managed to ensure attendance by all international delegations and buyers from 46 accredited countries world-wide. On an Italian scale, there were many trade operators, although attendance was inevitably down from regions hit by bad weather, such as Emilia-Romagna and Central Italy which were completely cut off from the rest of the country."
Nevertheless, for most operators the 2012 edition of the exhibition (more than 1,300 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, 10 halls for five theme areas: Bioenergy Expo, Agrimeccanica, Zoosystem, Agriservice and Agripiazza) generated useful contacts in commercial terms.
From agricultural engineering to animal farming, companies were satisfied. "The event turned out very well," said Massimo Zubelli, Sales Director Italy for Same Deutz Fahr. Fieragricola is strategically positioned in terms of both its dates and the target. The bad weather perhaps merely had a boomerang effect, since it only excluded the general public but not people with a special interest, such as agricultural entrepreneurs, sub-contractors and dealers."
Carlo Cislaghi, distribution and marketing director of Bcs was very favourably impressed by attendance and international contacts. "We began very interesting discussions with a delegation from Poland," he said. "This for is why Fieragricola once again confirmed its strategic role for us in 2012: exports for our group play a major role in the financial statements of our company."
Agostino Aime, Sales Director Italy of Merlo SpA, said: "the bad weather undoubtedly affected attendance, but we nevertheless saw strong interest among visitors, not the least since our company always tries to make a great impression at Fieragricola".
There were even a number of orders placed during the exhibition for some companies. So said Marcelo Carraro, Executive Director of Antonio Carraro SpA: "Good attendance, despite the bad weather difficulties, and once again at this edition, we found Fieragricola to be lively and rewarding. In particular, the exhibition also helped generate new stimuli and enthusiasm, especially among dealers."
Such positive dynamics also emerged at the Zoosystem exhibition. Guillermo Keegan of Dutch company Trioliet was extremely satisfied: "We held the Italian preview of our automated animal feed distribution robot and things could not have gone better."
And if there were inevitably fewer visitors because of the paralysis in public transport, some exhibitors took advantage of this to create strategic contacts for their business plans. Luciana Breviglieri, president of the Breviglieri company based in Verona, said: "I managed to optimise a number of contacts which I feel may well ensure positive developments for our range of agricultural equipment."
"The weather was a hindrance," said Matteo Coppi of Rota Guido, "but we still established a great many useful contacts."
"It was only today that we noticed lower attendance by families," said Giordano Veronesi, past president of Gruppo Veronesi. Our stand was packed on Friday and yesterday."
Synergies and contracts for bio-energy. Bioenergy Expo was particularly positive for exhibitors. "I am very satisfied," said Angelo Scaravonati, President of Rinnova Green Energy, "because, alongside commercial aspects, renewable energy operators were able to make comparisons in the field in a very constructive manner."
